The Story of the Blue Jay:
Blue Jays are a beautiful bird, and to be honest I didn't realize how beautiful until I discovered the details on them when I felt the urge to paint one. Of course, you can only get so close to these birds in nature, so as I began to google images out of curiosity I was amazed at how brilliant they actually were.
I found layers of blue, speckles of color on random feathers, touches of white, and their fine little hairs on their chest up to their head. These small animals were intricately made and to me, it made them all the more interesting. This kicked off my mini bird series, and every time I see this painting I crave to paint more.
