The Story:
After moving in with my parents post divorce I was continuously looking for little things to make my day feel special. Pretty patterns, color, sounds. Literally anything.
The office I was often spending time in painting looked out into the front yard where we had some bird houses and would put food out for the birds. I found myself drawn to watching them eat, walk, play, and fly around. In the evenings we would go for walks, me and the boys, and as the sun would set we would laugh as the birds swarmed the skies and sang their songs. It was beautiful.
I became very inspired by these birds that were continuously in sight during these uplifting moments. In moments of peace they were there, in moments of joy they were there. I began to explore more birds and wanted to create a small collection that caught my eye.
I wanted to make them stand out and that is why I used bright and bold colors for the House Finch and went with the a bold color for the background. I wanted these birds to captivate your eyes the way they captivated my heart.
